Melissa Moss
Psychologist
About
Melissa (Mel) is a Registered Psychologist, Holistic Counsellor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, with extensive experience across private and organisational sectors in Australia and the UK. She integrates evidence-based, trauma-informed, humanistic, somatic, and mindfulness approaches with a compassionate, creative, and whole-person focus.
Mel works with adults navigating a wide range of challenges, including trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, dissociations, depression, grief, and relational struggles. She takes a non-pathologizing approach, viewing distress not as something inherently wrong with a person, but as a meaningful response to lived experiences, relationships, environments, and unmet needs.
Grounded in trauma-informed, humanistic, and systemic frameworks, she supports clients in understanding their experiences, making sense of their responses, and developing strategies to live in greater alignment with their values and needs.
Mel’s work also centres on building a secure and attuned therapeutic relationship. Research shows this is the most important factor in effective therapy. She believes in seeing the functions beneath what may otherwise be interpreted as “dysfunction”, helping clients experience the freedom, vitality, and clarity that come from living congruently with their true selves.
