Senior Clinical Psychologist
About
Michael is a Senior registered Clinical Psychologist with experience working across hospital, community, and private practice settings. He supports adolescents and adults, with a particular interest in working with young adults. Michael is also a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor providing training and supervision for psychologists.
Michael works with a range of concerns including Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Complex Trauma, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and substance use. He also supports individuals experiencing difficulties with self-criticism, perfectionism, relationship challenges, and unhelpful behavioural patterns, with a focus on understanding how earlier life experiences may shape current difficulties.
Michael works with individuals, as well as couples and families, supporting them to explore and address underlying patterns that may contribute to conflict, disconnection, or distress.
Michael values developing a genuine and collaborative therapeutic relationship. He believes that gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves, alongside self-acceptance, can support meaningful and lasting change. He also recognises the importance of relationships in shaping our sense of self, and views connection as central to the therapeutic process.
Outside of his work, Michael enjoys a variety of activities including beach and nature walks, staying active, video games, and small DIY and woodworking projects.
One of Michael’s favourite quotes is: “Healing means to make whole and to accept all parts of ourselves – not just the parts you like, but all of you.” by Louise Hay.
